What is RFID?

RFID stands for Radio-Frequency Identification, and it’s an electronic device whose technology is used to wirelessly transmit information to compatible readers. This allows users to perform functions such as: identity confirmation and purchasing of items.

The threat of RFID

Although the technology of RFID helps to make life easier, there is the risk of card skimming, invasion of privacy and identity theft occurring. Criminals carry around portable devices that can be used to scan your card information simply by being passed alongside your wallet/purse.

The solution: RFID blocking

RFID blocking can prevent these things from happening. RFID blocking utilities a special material, built into the wallet, that prevents RFID readers from scanning the information off the cards in your wallet. As such, your information remains safe and secure.
